I'm going to the beach in a few weeks, and to get into the Summer mindset, I put together a little collection of things that every girl needs for the beach!

Every beach lover needs... 1) a place by the water, 2) a handful of shells, 3) a blanket for breezy nights, 4) a favorite pair of flip flops, 5) a 'holds everything and then some' bag, 6) SPF 30, 7) effortless beachy waves, 8) a funky bikini, and 9) a cute pair of sunnies. :)

Spots & Stripes

The stripe trend has been on the rise since early spring, and now polka dots are hitting the scene. Wear them separately, or mix them together. Below are a few stripe and polka dot printed dresses from Threadsence and Free People.

Hint: Wear large stripes with smaller, more subtle polka dot print and vice versa!

Easy Summer Hair: Braids

Braids are showing up all over the runways these days. --and rightfully so. They are super easy to wear, comfortable, and there are endless ways to style them. Wear them pinned around your head like at Alice + Olivia, or in two fishtails like at Tory Burch. My favorite part about braids is how wavy my hair is when I come out of the ocean and take them out when they're dry!

Sun Kissed: Three Bronzers Under $35

With Summer quickly approaching, almost everyone is either going to the beach to get a jumpstart on their tan, or getting a sprayed tan. I have very fair skin, so in the Summer, I'm more concerned that I don't get burned rather than getting tan. I never really liked the look of spray tans either. They always have an orange tint or are too dark. --Personally, I'm not putting up with any of that. When it comes to looking a little sun kissed in the Summer, I love compact bronzer. It is easy to apply, and it can be layered. The best part? --If you mess up, just wash it off and start over!
