My 'Basics' Wishlist

|Birkenstock Arizona Sandals, $130| I wear my other Birkenstocks to my six hour drawing class where we are standing the whole time, and they give my feet so much support and are honestly the most comfortable pair of shoes that I own. I'd love to own a pair in this style, and I love the brown! I've had my other Birks for four years, and it's time for some new ones!

|Seamed Bambi Flare, $128| In general, I love flare jeans! These are especially cool because they have the raw edge on the bottom and super edgy and flattering seams running up and down the legs. I also love the different color denim!

|Soft Dream Tee, $38| I am a huge fan of oversized tees and this one looks extra cozy. I think I would live in it!

|Original Satchel, $246| My aunt has this bag and she doesn't have enough good things to say about it! She has had hers for a few years now and still looks new! She told me she put it out in the sun to make the leather straps darker, and looks incredible. This bag has the perfect amount of space for everything you need (or think you need). It also comes with a detachable pouch that could be used for makeup or pens!

|Adidas by Stella McCartney Top, $90| I love my yoga, and this top would be perfect! I love that it has the racerback in front and the mesh tank look which makes it different from every other activewear top! I also really like the flattering seams running up the sides! <3

Your Perfect Fall Outfit

Leather skirts are popping up everywhere from department stores and the runway. This Fall, having a leather skirt is a must. Pick one that falls at the knee or just above and pair it with a chunky knit pullover. To spice it up a bit, wear black chunky heels.

Keep your hair and makeup simple. Sleek hair into a low bun and secure with a few bobby pins and an elastic. Paint your nails a neutral color like Essie's 'Sand Tropez.' For the face, tight line your upper lids, apply two coats of mascara and swipe on some oxblood lipstick!

For this festival outfit, I wanted to stick to Free People's products, because they embody what festivals are all about, which is having a carefree time in comfortable and stylish clothes. When I think of festivals and what I would wear, I think of color. Lots of color. I often wear grays and blacks because that is what I'm drawn to when I'm shopping, so I want to stray from that and give off that sunny Summer day vibe.
The first item I picked was this gorgeous lightly tie dyed tank dress, which features a slightly asymmetrical hemline. It's a great base piece and because the colors are faint, a lot can be paired with it.  Next I picked this leather hip belt which I saw at the store the other day. It's made from really soft but durable leather. I was inspired by a look that I saw Chloe Chippendale from Sugarhigh + Lovestoned wear a while back. She paired a short black dress with a hip belt, and I thought it was genius.

From here, I picked the under garments. I love these lace bike shorts because they add a little bit of detail to the legs as well as being functional when the wind blows. I also chose this periwinkle lace bralette again for the detail, but also for the color and comfort. Next I chose these really modern looking hot pink sandals! They look like they'd be super comfy and add a nice unexpected pop of color. Lastly, I chose the Indian Bell bracelets to give the outfit a bit of interest. I feel like every time I look at these bracelets, I discover something new about them.

I feel that this outfit is fully functional and comfortable without sacrificing style and purpose! Would you wear it? Share your thoughts below. :)

Wednesday Stylist: Putting Your Best Foot Forward

I've always thought that accessories had the ability to complete an outfit. They can transform a simple outfit consisting of nothing but basics, into a head-turning ensemble. One accessory that can leave a big impact is a pair of shoes, whether they are platforms, wedges, pumps, converse or loafers, your shoes can say a lot about you. I love these shoes above by John Fluevog and I think they are great sources of shoe inspiration! He has the coolest designs from heels and oxfords to ankle boots and platform clogs (my favorite!).

Often times, we fall into a rut of wearing the same couple pairs of shoes over and over again until the season changes...I am guilty as well. Shoes become worn and molded to our feet and 9/10 times they go with just about every outfit we own. Challenge yourself to find at the store or in the back of your closet, shoes that express your mood and fit your destination for each day. --That may mean that you wear one pair of shoes there times this week, that's fine! My point is simply try to branch out and try something new. You will be surprised how a pair of shoes can change the mood of an outfit!

Trendy Tuesday: Ballet Flats

Ballet flats have been around for a while, but they have been especially popular this past year. Modcloth has a bunch of cute varieties in neutral, pastel and black. They look great with everything from jeans and pressed pants to maxi and mini skirts.

Anthropologie Is Ready For the Holidays

I went into Anthropologie today, only to find that just like every other store, is ready for the holidays! Snow is sprinkled everywhere, gift wrapping supplies are neatly arranged on the shelves, Christmas trees are adorned in twinkly lights and an assortment of ornaments. It's hard to believe that Christmas is under two months away, as it just felt like Summer was beginning.

These adorable little tree ornaments are priced at $8.00 each. I will be posting how to make these yourself for just pennies!

This brooch is crazy beautiful!

I always go nuts looking through the various drawer pulls!

This was my favorite vignette in the store. I love the look of the crystal perfume bottles against the fur.

I'm a little too obsessed with distressed hardwood floors...

Books, books, books!

I will also be doing a DIY on how to make these plates!
